Marietta, located in northern Greenville County, traces its roots back to the 1840s when J. Harvey Cleveland acquired land along the North Saluda River. He named the settlement "Marietta" after his wife, Mary Louisa Williams. The village's growth was initially slow due to limited access via the challenging Jones Gap Road. The late 1880s saw the introduction of the CK&W rail line, known as the Swamp Rabbit, which passed through Marietta. Infrastructure improvements in the 1920s, including the construction of the Geer Highway and the provision of electricity by Duke Power, spurred development. In 1927, the Slater family established a significant mill nearby, leading to the creation of Slater Village. The success of Slater Mill, which opened in 1928, intertwined the histories of Slater and Marietta with the combined area often referred to as Slater-Marietta. Over time, the community evolved, balancing industrial growth with its residential character. Learn more about Marietta on the official Greenville County page or Wikipedia.

- Longer Lifespan: Composite decking generally lasts longer than wood decking, often coming with warranties of 25 years or more.
- Aesthetics:
- Consistent Appearance: Composite decking maintains its color and appearance longer than wood, which can fade and weather over time.
- Variety of Styles: Composite decking comes in a wide range of colors and finishes, often mimicking the look of natural wood.
- Environmental Considerations:
- Recycled Materials: Many composite decks are made from recycled plastics and wood fibers, making them a more environmentally friendly choice compared to new lumber.
- Safety:
- Slip Resistance: Composite materials can be designed to be more slip-resistant than wood, beneficial in South Carolina's wet conditions.
- No Splinters: Composite decking doesn't splinter, making it safer for bare feet and pets.
Trex decking is a composite material made from up to 95% recycled materials, including reclaimed sawdust and recycled plastic film. This plastic comes from common household items like dry cleaner bags, newspaper bags, grocery bags, and plastic overwrap on packaging. The plastic improves the wood's resistance to water and insect damage. Trex also uses eco-friendly manufacturing processes.
Yes! We use hidden fasteners with our composite decking to provide a clean, seamless look.
- Clear the deck's surface and sweep away any large debris.
- Spray down with a hose to remove smaller debris and dirt.
- Gently scrub the surface with a soft-bristle brush and warm, soapy water.
- Rinse thoroughly using a hose.
Trex decking offers a 50-year warranty on their Transcend line, a 25-year warranty on Enhance Basics and Naturals, but they expect it to last a lifetime.
As a licensed Trex retailer, we consider Trex to be the best composite decking to install.
We recommend using picture frame boards on deck and stair treads.
Depending on the scope of work and any necessary preparations, most composite decks can be built within 2-8 weeks.
